Two Updates And a Blog Addition

1) The government filed its appeal in the Knight First Amendment Institute suit (the Twitter case) tonight (June 4). A press release from Knight indicates that those Trump plaintiffs blocked by Trump have been unblocked. Some news stories have also stated that different people are still blocked. I cannot verify the latter; I’m sure Knight is right about the former. I will continue to keep you updated about this case.

2) The Masterpiece Cakeshop opinion was handed down today (along with three other pending cases; that leaves 25 still to go). I will post on Masterpiece at length later in the week. There is much to say about the case, and its effects (both for the issues involved and for other cases), well beyond the 7-2 vote total which gave a victory to the owner of the bakeshop on what the majority thought were very narrow grounds (essentially a victory for him but not applying to anyone else). Six separate opinions to sort through. Much more later.

Blog additionmake sure you check out the “Blogs I Follow” widget that now appears on the blog (on the right side or at the bottom (but only in desktop mode). Loads of first-rate legal analysis from many perspectives on a wide variety of issues.
